We can also offer Sony projectors, Mitsubishi projectors, Epson projectors and many more brands upon request. If you would like to receive a projector review, please enquire stating the brand and model number.
Video Projectors
Most data projectors will also project videos from different sources such as Composite video, Component video and S-VHS Video. The best projectors for projecting video are the DLP projectors as they have a much higher contrast ratio than LCD projectors. This results in much deeper brilliant colours.
Overhead Projectors
Many people refer to data projectors, video projectors and home theatre projectors, that are suspended from the ceiling mount, as overhead projectors. Hence there is some confusion with the term “overhead projector”.
An overhead projector is an older style projector that projects transparencies onto a screen. All Projectors can still supply these overhead projectors.
Home Theater Projectors, Home Cinema
A lot of projectors are used for home theatre projection. However if you want a real home cinema experience, we recommend projectors that are especially designed as home theatre projectors. These projectors are mostly DLP projectors, with improved Dark Chips (Dark Chip3), the latest BrilliantColor technology, multi segmented colour wheel (5 or more segments), high performance video processors for accurate colour reproduction and crisper, sharper images. Most of these projectors have full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and are also known as 1080p projectors. Most of these high end home theatre projectors have multiple HDMI inputs.
LCD Projectors
LCD projectors use LCD technology to project a video image or a computer image. The white light produced by the lamp is split into Red, Green and Blue (RGB) via dichroic filters. Each individual color passes through an LCD and is ten recombined via a prism to create the final image, which is then reflected through the lens. They are mostly used as data projectors, as they produce more computer like colours.
DLP projectors
DLP projectors use DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology, which consist of a single chip DMD (Digital Mirror Device) and a segmented color wheel to produce an image. However the high-end home theatre projectors, some large venue projectors and the DLP Cinema projectors found in digital movie theaters use 3 chips, as they produce an incredible array of colors resulting in a very high contrast ratio.
LED Projectors
LED projectors use the technology from either LCD projectors or LCD projectors. Main difference is the light is provided by an array of LED’s (Light Emitting Diodes), which results in a vastly loner life time of the projector (up to 60,000 hours), a much smaller size (nece categorised as Pico Projectors, Handheld projectors, Mini Projectors. The downside is that they are not very bright (from 100 ANSI lumens to 2,500 ANSI Lumens for LED Hybrids).
Interactive Projectors
Interactive projectors are the newest addition to the data projector market. This interactive technology is challenging the interactive whiteboard market, such as Smartboard, Starboard, Webster, Twotouch (also called 2touch), Activeboard, Promethean, Mimio, Ebeam (also E-Beam) and other interactive systems. Interactive projectors such as Hitachi, ViewSonic, BenQ, Epson, Infocus, Acer, Casio (and probably some more brands to follow suit) will turn any hard surface (whiteboard, wall, ceiling, floor, …) into an interactive surface. So no need for any extra expenses, i.e. interactive whiteboards that still would need a projector to make it work. Interactive projectors will give you interactivity for less than half price compared to interactive whiteboards. It’s the ideal, cost effective solution that brings interactive technology to board meeting rooms, class rooms and education in general.
